Obituary of Alfred Clough – Manchester and Vernon, CT

Alfred E. Clough, 87, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, husband of the late Ann S. (Lauff) Clough, died Sunday (July 22, 2001). Born in Manchester on May 18, 1914, son of the late Frederick and Annie (Elliott) Clough. He grew up in Manchester, graduated from the Morse School of Business and has lived in Vernon since 1961. Before retiring in 1983, he spent 35 years at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in East Hartford, where he was a supervisor in the spare parts department. Alfred was a devoted professional baseball fan who followed the game diligently. He was a very caring and generous person who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was the beloved father of Edward E. Clough of Vernon; and Althea S. Wojcik and her husband, Edward of South Windsor. He was also the loving grandfather of Scott Wojcik and his wife Karen of Broad Brook; and Heather DeMonte and her husband, David of Vernon; and loving great-grandfather of Nicholas E. DeMonte. Al is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Irene Clough of Boise, ID. Funeral services and burials at East Cemetery, Manchester, are private.
