Obituary of Hedwig Beeman – Lorain, OH

LORAIN – Hedwig M. “Hedy” Beeman, 83, of Lorain, Ohio and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at New Life Hospice, Lorain, Ohio.

She was born May 31, 1927 in Vietach, Germany, the son of the late Alphonse and Francis (Brem) Vogg and came to the United States in 1935. Hedy came to Norwalk, Ohio from New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1962. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Women of St. Paul and the Firelands Post #2743 Auxiliary, Norwalk, Ohio. Hedy was a teacher at Pleasant Street School in Norwalk for 25 years, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed working with flowers and especially enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Hedy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Vicki Beeman of Cincinnati, Ohio and Daniel and Tammy Beeman of Lorain, Ohio, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Hylton of Vinton, Virginia and by her brother-in-law, Donald Beeman of Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Hedy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mark J. Beeman, in 2006. There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at. 10:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Faithful Stewards of Tomorrow.
