Stanislava Rankowski Obituary – Gulph Mills, PA

Stanislava M. “Stella (Polsky) Rankowski, a homemaker, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, surrounded by five of her seven children, at the age of 87. Mrs. Rankowski, a resident of Gulph Mills, became a member of St. Catherine Sienna RC Church of Wayne. She was the former president of Faculty Wives of Villanova University and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Stella studied geography and spent many years traveling, enjoying the company of Thomas Kelly of Springfield. Born in Pittsburgh on November 10, 1924, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Banazyk) Rankowski and the widow of Dr. Charles A. Rankowski, a professor at Villanova University and a retired military officer. She is survived in descending order by her eldest daughter: Catherine Middleton, and her husband Richard, of the King of Prussia, sons: Charles Rankowski, of Columbus, Ohio, Thomas Rankowski, and his wife Rebecca, of Collegeville, Christopher Rankowski, of West Bloomfield, MI, Richard Rankowski, and his wife Frances, of Killeen, TX, John Rankowski, and his wife Gale, of Media, and youngest daughter: Regina Rankowski, of Austin, TX; grandchildren: Casimir Alexis, Brigid, Jan Edward, Casimir Thomas, Alexandria, John Jeffreys as well as Austin and Christina Ward. She was preceded in death by a sister: Regina Mathis and a brother: Bernard Plosky. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart RC Church, 120 Jefferson St. Swedesburg. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Swedesburg, Pa. 19405.
