Two fetuses found on Baltimore MTA bus, police say

Authorities are investigating after two fetuses were found on a city bus in Baltimore last weekend, police said.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a Maryland Transit Administration bus driver discovered a fetus on a seat on the bus, Baltimore police said in a statement sent to USA TODAY.

Initial reports indicated that only one fetus had been found on the bus, but police confirmed on Monday that a second fetus had been discovered. The department did not indicate when the second fetus was found.

Police also declined to comment on how far along the fetuses were in their pregnancy.

MTA Police, Eastern District officers and homicide detectives responded to the call. The murder authorities took over the case.

The fetuses were transferred to the medical examiner’s office. USA TODAY has contacted the office for comment.

The investigation is ongoing and this story will be updated as more information is released.
