Man shot while walking in Severn: Police

SEVERN, MD – A man was hospitalized after a shooting in Severn on Friday, police said.

Officers expect the 49-year-old victim to survive. Authorities are still searching for the unknown suspect.

Police said the shooting happened around 5:22 a.m. near Annapolis Road and Disney Road.

The victim told officers he saw a sedan drive past him as he walked through the area. He reported hearing gunshots and later realizing he had been shot.

Medics took the victim to shock trauma as a precaution with what authorities called “a non-life-threatening wound to his leg.”

Detectives are still investigating. They had not located the crime scene or identified any suspect information as of 10:15 a.m. Friday
