Obituary of Robert Jordan – CO

Robert Lee Jordan, 72, passed away on May 1, 2013 in Canon City, CO. He was born in Springfield, CO on May 28, 1940 to Clarence and Almeda (Robinson) Jordan. Robert was the author of two books, “History of Rodeo and Other Legends” and “Cowboy Buster.” Robert married Shirley Neal on October 11, 1959 and Dorothy Thomas on November 27, 1969. Mr. Jordan is survived by his sons, Levi (Tami) Jordan and Casey (LeEllen) Jordan, both of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Shari Cooper of Springfield, CO; eight grandchildren, Mitchell (Cami) Jordan, Quaid (Natalie) Jordan, Kegan (Jennifer) Jordan, Taci Cooper, Josh Cooper, Zac Cooper and Kimberly Byrket and Melody Westcott; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Anthony and Colten Jordan, and Mikayla, Kaden and Kassidy Byrket; sister, Florine Orona of Canon City; brothers, Vern (Sharon) Jordan of Pueblo West, Arlan (Carolyn) Hiner of Spearfish, SD, Leon Hiner of Alamosa, CO, Dayle Hiner of Denver and Earl Hiner of Alamosa; and aunts, Norma Corker of Waco, TX, and Pauline Robinson of Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by that of his wife, Shirley and Dorothy; a little son; his parents; and brothers, Walter and Monte. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Holt Chapel of the Garden in Canon City, CO. Arrangements are being handled through Holt Family Funeral Home.
