North Haven police are looking for driver after German shepherd died in collision

NORTH HAVEN – A black German Shepherd was struck and killed on Hartford Turnpike early this morning, according to North Haven Police Department officials.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., the 2-year-old dog was struck near 1650 Hartford Turnpike by what is believed to be a white Ford pickup or SUV.

The vehicle was heading north and was unable to stop after the incident.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect car, which is believed to have suffered front-end damage.

Officer Capozzo urges anyone with information or video of the incident to come forward.

North Haven Police are asking for the community’s help in finding the responsible party.
