Obituary of Jane McDonald – Boulder, CO (1947-2013)

June A. McDonald of Boulder died on September 22, 2013 at Boulder Manor after losing his battle with a brain tumor. She was born on September 12, 1947 to Mark and Leonore McDonald in Indianapolis, IN. Jane attended East High School in Denver. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America and the Mariner Girl Scout Program. She attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Asian studies. Mandarin Chinese was her emphasis. After working in CU’s Engineering Department, she returned to the classroom and earned a master’s degree in computer science. Jane worked for several companies starting at NBI, Eastman Kodak and retired from Vertis Corp. At Vertis she was Director of Product Development in the Digital Solutions Group. She met her husband during her senior year at CU and they ended a 26-year courtship with a Mediterranean cruise in 2000. She enjoyed the mountains, hiking, flowers and home gardening so much. Her family was a constant source of joy for her, and trips to celebrate birthdays or weddings were just an adventure for her. Week-long family reunions every two years from 1986 onwards were the most important to her and an event I will not miss! Her ever-present smile complemented her compassion for her colleagues, and a sign of love for her family. She is survived by her husband, William Cramer, and a brother, Paul, of Denver. She is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a younger brother, Robert. An open house in Jane’s memory will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home, 1745 Sunset Boulevard, Boulder, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
