Drew Gordon: Former NBA forward and brother of Denver Nuggets star dies at 33

Drew Gordon, a former NBA forward and the brother of Denver Nuggets star Aaron Gordon, has died, according to the team.

“The Denver Nuggets organization is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Drew Gordon,” the team wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Drew was far too young to leave this world, but his legacy will live on forever through his three beautiful children and all his loved ones,” the statement said.

A police spokesperson confirmed that Gordon, who was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Clackamas County, Oregon, died at the scene on Thursday. The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson added.

Gordon played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014–15 season, and he also played abroad in Lithuania with Rytas Vilnius and Poland with Enea Zastal BC Zielona Góra, where he was part of a team that won the Polish Championship.

The 76ers marked his passing in a post on X, writing: “We send our condolences to the Gordon family and their friends.”

Meanwhile, Rytas Vilnius posted in a statement on Facebook: “The basketball world was shocked by sad news – our former player Drew Gordon died at the age of 33. Rest in peace, Drew.”
