Florida State baseball vs. UCF NCAA regional could see rain delay

Florida State Baseball’s NCAA regional showdown against UCF could be postponed.

The Tallahassee Regional loser’s game between Stetson and Alabama is currently in a weather delay, as announced by FSU baseball in an X-post.

The game between the Tide and Hatters was scheduled for a first pitch at noon, but a storm heading toward the Tallahassee area caused a delay.

There is no update on when play will resume, but with the first game of the day postponed, FSU will likely see a change in its expected 5 p.m. start time against the Knights.

The start of the Seminoles’ game against UCF will depend on when the Stetson-Alabama game ends.

NCAA rules require a 30-minute delay due to weather, with conditions reassessed every half hour. If conditions persist, delays will continue until playing conditions are deemed safe.

FSU defeated Stetson 7-2 in the opening round of regional play thanks to a pitching gem from Carson Dorsey, with the Knights defeating Alabama 8-7 in a thriller to set up the winner’s game on Saturday night.

The winner will advance to Sunday’s regional final.

The losers of Saturday’s game will face the winner of Stetson vs. Alabama in an elimination game, with the winner booking a spot in the regional title game.
